Stephen Serebin serving an 18-month sentence for misdemeanor convictions that stemmed from the death of a nursing home resident, had his bid for a reduced sentenced denied Wednesday. Circuit Judge Ralph Adam Fine told Serebin that he would have to ask the parole board to release him, Fine, however, approved Serebin's request to serve the rest of his sentence with work release privileges. Serebin, who is to be released from the House of Correction in the spring, was convicted of abuse of nursing home patients. He was the administrator of the former Glendale Convalescent Center on N. Port Washington Rd.
