Author Joseph Heller. Recurrent Themes - "All my books have themes in common," says Joseph Heller, photographed in New York City. Best known as the author of "Catch 22," he's also written "Something Happened" and, most recently, "Good As Gold." In them all, he points out, there's awareness of the presence of death and of the presence of money - though he didn't realize this while he was writing. "These things emerge in my work because they are in my nature," he comments, "and I use them in the way I need them in each book."
