1987 Press Photo Children leave school after tornado in Belvidere, Illinois

The terror of a tornado was etched on their faces as pupils left Belvidere Illinois high school Friday where they had taken refuge. Hair was disheveled and legs and clothes were splattered with mud. They were forced to buck strong winds as they left the school which was spared.
