London: Accompanied by his wife, Marion, Jeremy Thorpe arrives at the Old Bailey May 8 to go on trial on charges of having conspired to murder a man who says the two once had a sexual relationship. Thorpe, 50, is former leader of Britain's Liberal party. He has denied that there was any sexual element in his friendship with the man and pleaded "not guilty" after a court official read the murder plot charges.
