A member (right) of the Wisconsin Committee for Organizing the Unemployed picketed and distributed literature Friday outside the main gate of the A.O. Smith Corp. as workers entered the plant The committee's goal is to fight for increased employment by opposing employee concessions and employers' use of overtime. the group also protest the use of robots and advanced technology. The committee has planned a meeting March 26 at Hepatha Lutheran Church 1720 W. Locust St. Speakers will include leaders of a similar group in Detroit.
