1991 Press Photo Terry Thomascik forms beak on snow scultpure, Snow Festival

Terry Thomascik, of Anchorage, Alaska, forms a beak on his snow sculpture, titled "Spirit of Alaska," during competition at the Winter Fun Snow Sculpting Festival Saturday at the Mitchell Park Domes. His team was one of 18 from around the country participating in the event. The winning team's members, from Milwaukee, are Arlyn Kampen, Bill Hackbarth and Paul Hess. They will advance to an International snow sculpting competition in Quebec. A similar international competition will be at the Domes beginning Tuesday.
