1994 Press Photo Picket line for Amtrak employee strike outside Amtrak Portage

Striking Soo line employees Dale Olson (left) and Daniel Herrick picketed Wednesday morning outside the Amtrak passenger station downtown. Olson, a brakeman-conductor, and Herrick, a conductor, both work out of Portage. The strike has forced Amtrak to reduce service from Milwaukee to Chicago.
