1956 Press Photo Snow plow cleared the way in the Alps near La Barcelonnette

A snow plow cleared the way for summer tourists through a mountain pass high in the Alps near La Barcelonnette, France. Several lower passes had been cleared but the 6,000 foot Col de Cayolle and Col d'Allos passes will not be open for traffic until the end of May.
