New at Irish Fest this weekend at the Summerfest grounds will be a "Tipperary Tea Room." Don't look for scones or soda bread, though- "The sweet tooth of Americans doesn't adapt well to the bland taste of authentic Irish," says Colleen Kennedy, an Irish Fest coordinator- but the sweet treats will have an Irish theme. Consider (clockwise from the strawberry-topped Blarney Berry Torte): Molly Pecan Shortbread, Shamrock Cookies, Paddy Chocolates (after Paddy McFest, the festival's mascot), McMint Torte and Irish Cream Cheesecake, Irish tea, hot and iced, and Irish coffees, as well as regular coffee, will be served in the tea room. The festival runs Friday through Sunday.
