1979 Press Photo Mosaic on wall of new addition to Saint Luke's Hospital

A mosaic of the Biblical physician St. Luke now decorates a wall of the new addition to St. Luke's Hospital.l The mural, by former Milwaukee artist and teacher Edmund D. Lewandowski, was unveiled Monday. It is 34 feet by 34 feet and forms part of the north wall of the $25 million Walter Schroeder addition, now under construction. Lewandowski was president of Milwaukee's old Layton School of Art. He is now at Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C. Funds for the mosaic were provided by the Margaret and Fred Loock Foundation. The late Fred Loock was president of Allen-Bradley Corp.
