A worker mopped the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, a popular attraction --- Moscow's Red Square, at times the scene of grandiose military parades and state funerals, functions most of the time as a top tourist attraction. The square's original 17th-century name translate from Russian as beautiful square. The most widely known and eye-catching of its attractions is St. Basil's Cathedral, with its clusters of onion-domed spires and vivid colors. The Kremlin, a complex whose name symbolizes the Soviet government it houses, was the original walled center of the city. Its massive walls embrace new office buildings as well as Czarist palaces and venerable cathedrals.The much-visited red granite mausoleum of Lenin is just outside the Kremlin walls in the square. People also come to pay their respect to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, where it is a popular custom to leave wedding bouquets.
