Carl Dirske, a purchasing manager at S.C. Johnson & Son Inc., Racine, added his signature Monday to a large statement pledging to protect the environment. The signing of the pledge in the company cafeteria is part of a week-long program that Johnson Wax is using to raise its employees' awareness of environmental issues before Earth Day is observed on Sunday.
