St. Mary is moved. The statue of Mary and the hospital named for her have gone from Port Washington Mequon, where the new St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee officially opened at 6 a.m. Tuesday. The 80-bed-acute-care facility, which cost about $29.5 million, is at 13111 N. Port Washington Road. Between 20 and 30 patients were to make the trek in ambulances provided by several area municipalities. The patient population had been kept low before the move by scheduling all elective surgeries for the new hospital. The big brown hospital building on Montgomery St. in Port Washington is to become senior citizen housing.
