Description
Eddy Rodriguez (right) and his son, Eddy, talked about the fires while at their grocery store at 1239 South 12th Street. Milwaukee. Arson investigators said Thursday that they had not yet determined a cause for the four-alarm fire early Tuesday in an apartment building at South 16th and West Mineral Streets. However, Inspector Ronald Mehl, head of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, said investigators strongly suspected arson. The fire, which began inside Eddy's Trading Import Incorporated, 1005 South 16th Street, and spread to apartments above the store, demolished the southern section of the building. Police began to suspect arson because of a firebombing at Eddy's Grocery Strore, 1239 South 12th Street, which was reported at 4:02 a.m. Tuesday, just a half-hour after the fire at the imports store. Both stores are owned by Eddy Rodriguez, 39.
