Description
Day-care programs are not a new idea, but the concept of older adults caring for other adults is a recent development. At St. Ann's Health Center, 3221 South Lake Drive, sisters, aided by retired nuns, operate an adult day-care program. The retired nuns are caring, older adults who help take care of other elderly, caring people. They understand what it is like to be elderly. Frank Rogers, seated in a wheelchair (above), kept his arms strong by using pulleys for daily physical therapy. Lester Brumm is interested in craftwork (top right). He cut yarn and cord into short strands to be used as doll hair. The craft table (lower right) attracts people who gather to socialize while working on their various projects.

Photo measures 10 x 6.25 inches. Photo is dated 02-16-1984.
