Julius Barker stacks 50-pounds bags of Safe Step an ice melting product, at Koos in Kenosha, on Wednesday, as yet another snow storm inundated southeastern Wisconsin. Sales for the company are up 52% this year because of the harsh weather. Koos employs 140 in Kenosha and in Florida, and projects sales of about $30 million this year, owner Peter Lederer said. Koos, which was founded in 1911, also produces chemical fertilizers.
