1983 Press Photo Hydraulic press at Nordberg Manufacturing Co. in Wisconsin.

Workmen fitted a 35 ton crown into place on what is said to be the largest modern metalworking hydraulic press in Wisconsin. This photograph was taken at Nordberg Manufacturing Co., which built the press for Triple E Engineering Co. of Racine. The press now is being installed on a huge foundation and a building will be constructed around it. Total weight of the giant machine is 130 tons. A special tonnage selector permits a variation in pressure exerted--either 388, 688 or 1,080 tons--and in speeds of operation. Triple E says the press will make it the largest job stamping and fabricating plant in Wisconsin. It serves various industries.
