1965 Press Photo A machine from Nordberg Manufacturing that makes salt blocks.

Description
This 20 foot, 40 ton machine turns out salt blocks for livestock feeding, at a rate of nine 50 pound blocks every two minutes. Robert Patzfahl tests the big unit, made by Nordberg Manufacturing Company here, before shipment. The "compacting press" takes granular salt and squeezes it into 8 1/2 by 81/2 by 11 inch blocks under a maximum pressure of 36,000 pounds per square inch. Salt Press, December 24, 1965.
