Bess Myerson, New York City's Consumer Affairs Commissioner, drops in at a city supermarket and uses her own weights to check procedures at the store. Since her appointment as commissioner in 1969, Commissioner Myerson has won adoption of a tough consumer protection act, unit pricing and open dating of perishable foods.
