Description
There have been many shopping sprees throughout the years, but a $10,000 spree put a sparkle in the eye of Carol Schmitt of Colgate. She won a drawing that entitled her to a selection of $10,000 worth of Jewelry at Zales Jewelers at the Southridge shopping center. Rick Gouthro (upper), district manager for Zales, used a loupe as he checked a selection by Schmitt, a 1.87 carat round solitaire diamond in a white gold setting, valued at $8,213. Schmitt's expressions varied from the decision making (left) to happiness (right_. Lower right: The jeweler displayed Schmitt's selection, which included her ring and gifts for family members. The photograph shows a gold 20-diamond heart pendant, a gold ring set with nine diamonds, matching gold rings, a white gold wedding band, a diamond and pearl pendant with matching earrings and a diamond tie tac.

Photo measures 9.25 x 7.75 inches. Photo is dated 02-17-1984.
