1994 Press Photo People watching Fiddlers Contest at Pioneer Village

The rustic charm of Ozaukee County's Pioneer Village provided the backdrop for the country music produced at the third annual Fiddlers Contest, sponsored by the Ozaukee County Historical Society. An estimated 325 people were on hand for the contest Sunday at the recreated pioneer community in the Town of Saukville near Fredonia. Winners in a junior category, open to fiddle players 13 or younger, included John Patek, who came in first; his sister, Rebecca Patek, who placed second; and Marek Posard, who placed third. In the older category, open to musicians 14 or older, Megan McGowan won, while Stephanie Teply placed second. Above: Rachel Walk performs in the junior classification.
