1986 Press Photo Jutta Rupe serves coffee to residents, Rupe Home,Mount Pleasant

Jutta Rupe poured cups of coffee for Annabell Harmon and George Duerst, two of the residents at Rupe Home. Jutta is the founder of a new group home for six elderly residents in Mount Pleasant. She previously ran a group home for the elderly in Elkhorn and works with handicapped children. She has a son, Thomas, 21. "I realize we need nursing homes, but there are so many elderly who require supervision but not care. The main goal here is to provide a homelike atmosphere, to get away from institutionalization."
