Visitors at the recent international Machine Tool Show, in Chicago, peered at a Flex:Cell manufacturing system made by Kaufman Manufacturing Co. of Manitowoc. Kaufman is a privately-held firm founded in 1927 by the father of its current president. It has about 80 employees. the Flex:Cell is a computer-controlled machine capable of making many different kinds of parts.
