Description
Douglas Pierce, a pediatrician and the moving force in getting CHIP started in 1988. "CHIP is a miracle" Its baptismal name was the Comprehensive Health Investment Project. At age 2 it is now known throughout the valley simply as CHIP. It is a cooperative effort of the private doctors working with the support and machinery of existing social welfare agencies and health departments. If affording the same level of health care to the needy and affluent alike is not a miracle, no one in America's medical or social establishments seems to know of any other program just like it. (health care)

Photo measures 8 x 11 inches. Photo is dated 10-21-1990.
