1988 Press Photo Launching ramps at Naga-Waukee Park on a busy weekend

It was a busy weekend on Waukesha County's lakes as boaters headed for the launching ramps like these at Naga-Waukee Park. Generally it was a trouble-free weekend, but a fire that started in the outboard motor of a 16-foot boat Sunday forced its two occupants to jump ship in Pewaukee Lake, police said Tuesday. The two men were not hurt and were picked up by rescuers. A damage estimate was not available Tuesday, Pewaukee Police Chief Tom Nettesheim said. A check of patrols showed no other major problems over the holiday weekend.
