Vang T. Xiong checked a receipt while working at Menard's on Blue Mound Road in Waukesha. Xiong hopes to become Milwaukee's first Hmong police officer. Vang T. Xiong, a security guard working for just over the minimum wage, would like to become Milwaukee's first Hmong police officer. There are openings for minority police candidates. But for hiring purposes, members of the small Hmong community here are not considered minorities.
