Bee Inspection - Robert Edmonds, officer in charge of the state Animal, Plant and Health Inspection service, checked honeybees on the Honeywood Gardens Farm near Saukville for infestation by a rare destructive pest, the varroa mite. The mites, not previously known to exist in the United States, were discovered in a hive in Ozaukee County on September 25, and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has issued an order prohibiting the movement of honeybees or equipment in Wisconsin.
