1955 Press Photo Muscular Dystrophy claims 4 of 9 Walsh siblings, now motherless

Four brothers crippled by muscular dystrophy since they were 6 or 7 years old attended the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Nora Walsh, 53, in Chicago Friday. In the wheel chairs were (from left) Gerald, 19, Patrick, 22, andWalter, 27. The youngest, Kevin, 17, was carried by another brother, Tom. Five of the nine Walsh children were not victims of the disease. Tom and a sister and their father now will care for the family. Diseases.
