1948 Press Photo General Jonathan Wainwright poses for artist Arthur Elliott

The first portrait of Gen. Jonathan Wainwright in civilian clothes is nearing completion at the Hollywood studio of artist Arthur Elliott, where Wainwright has been posing over a four month period. The general, now vice-president of an industrial concern, says the painting will hang in his new home in San Antonio, Texas.

Photo is dated 1948.
