Selected for new assignment - General Lewis B. Hershey, shown with his wife, has been Selective Service director for 29 years and leaves that post Monday for a new assignment as adviser to President Nixon on manpower mobilization. The new post means the 76-year-old Hershey can continue on active duty in a military career that began exactly 59 years ago.
