Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Stack of prime logs cut recently in a 25 acre segment of the Root River Parkway in Franklin were examined Friday by (from left) Supervisor Daniel F. Casey, County Executive Doyne, and Mrs. Elizabeth Wyrich, a member of the County Park Commission. The timber was cut by an Illinois logging firm which, a spokesman said, was under the impression that the stand was on private land. The County Park Commission acquired the land in 1950.
