1949 Press Photo Heil Company installed dehydrator, F.L. Emment Company

Description
One of the largest dehydrators in the United States has been installed by the Heil Company, Milwaukee, at the plant of the F.L. Emment Company, processors of spent brewing grains at Cincinnati, Ohio. The new Heil unit turns a protein rich concentrate at the rate of 3,500 pounds an hour, reducing moisture from 70 to 8%. The picture shows the dehydrator, which replaced three steam driers, in a new structure specially designed to house the equipment.
