United Nations: Chinese Ambassador Huang Hua, President of the United Nations Security Council, raps gavel during urgent session called September 10 to hear complaints by Syria and Lebanon about Israeli air attacks against their territory. Under the monthly rotation system, it was the first time in United Nations history that the People's Republic of China presided over the 15-nation Security body.
