Description
The latest in "quickie" houses is this inexpensive frameless dwelling built..mixture over large rubberized canvas balloons. The radically new type of architecture is being used on a project west of Falls Church, Virginia, by the Defense Homes Corporation of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. After the concrete has set, the balloons are deflated and withdrawn, to be used over again, The idea is not so new. The lower picture shows the "igloo" built in Milwaukee on West Wells Street near the viaduct, five years ago by "blowing" concrete on a wire mesh frame. Homes -- Unusual. 3 HarIV House.
