Michael Oehler held a model of the supports used in one of his underground homes. They have one thing in common. They want to learn how an underground home can be built for as little as $50. The authority running the workshop is Michael Oehler, 45, who has lived for the past 12 years in an inexpensive underground house that he carved into a hillside near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Oehler was in Milwaukee as part of an 18-city promotional tour for is book, "The $50 and Up Underground House Book."
