Charles Gruver - Oklahoma City - Missing my Lai witness - Ex GI Charles D. "Butch" Gruver was named as a key defense witness Tuesday in a petition for a new trial for Lt. William L. Calley. The Oklahoma City Daily Oklahoman said Calley's attorneys claim new testimony by Gruver could lead to Calley's acquittal in the My Lai incident in South Vietnam in which several civilians were killed.
