The course, which qualifies them for an advanced certificate, emphasizes first aid problems encountered in police work. At left, Kotvis, playing the patient, read the instruction manual while Bruckner applied a head bandage. Behind them (from left) Robert G. Olde, jr., Harry Gorecki jo., in William H. Haynes. The recruit also received specialized training in emergency obstetrics and handling of cases involving heart failure.
