New York, New York: Adam L. Gimbel, 75, who as President of Saks Fifth Avenue built a nationwide chain of 31 stores, died Tuesday of pancreatitis at New York Hospital. Mr. Gimbel visited Milwaukee frequently during his retailing career. His grandfather, Adam Gimbel, established the first major Gimbel store in Milwaukee in 1887
