Description
Customers lineup to cook their own steaks at a saving of $2 a meal. Chicago Illinois- "Pick out a juicy one and slap it on the grill," Ric Wasserman said, gesturing to a glass refigerator case stacked high with strip steaks, filets, sirloin steaks and shish kebabs. Behind the refrigerator, attendants were busy trimming the fat from whole sides of beef. "While you're at it," he said "toast yourself up some garlic bread." This was no Sunday-afternoon barbecue or potluck dinner. Wasserman is a waiter. And the restaurant where he works. The Butcher Shop, is one of a growing number of eating establishments around the nation where patrons can save on the bill by cooking their entrees themselves.
