Customers lineup to cook their own steaks at a saving of $2 a meal. Behind the refrigerator, attendants were busy trimming the fat from whole sides of beef. "While you're at it," he said "toast yourself up some garlic bread." This was no Sunday-afternoon barbecue or potluck dinner. Wasserman is a waiter. And the restaurant where he works. The Butcher Shop, is one of a growing number of eating establishments around the nation where patrons can save on the bill by cooking their entrees themselves.
