1963 Press Photo Mossback Snapper turtle walked by Ralph Matson of Mayville.

This big mossback snapper still had plenty of snap, Ralph Matson of Mayville lassoed a hind leg and walked him the four miles from the main dike road in Horicon marsh to Mayville. The 37 pound turtle was believed to be more than 50 years old.
