1983 Press Photo Span of New Bridge Crossing Milwaukee River on Mequon Road Open

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Road open again - Traffic was again crossing the Milwaukee River on Mequon Road, after one span of the new bridge was opened to traffic while the other section of old bridge is being torn down and replaced. Four-way stop signs instead of stop-an-go lights are now in use at Cedarburg Road, which is at the western approach to the bridge. The construction is part of the Mequon Road widening project which will stretch from Buntrock Avenue to Interstate-43.

Photo measures 9.75 x 7 inches. Photo is dated 08-05-1983.
