Ed Markey, looking even younger than his 30 years and with long hair falling over his collar, came to Washington for the first time this week, not as a tourist. He is a newly-elected congressman from Massachusetts. Although Boston is not far from Washington, Markey said he never found it necessary to make the trip before. He is shown here in front of the Jefferson Memorial.
