1961 Press Photo Ceremony honoring the Grand Army of the Republic, Milwaukee

The 95th Anniversary of the founding of the Grand Army of the Republic was commemerated Thursday morning with the laying of the wreath at the Civil war monument in the Court of Honor. Holding the wreath was Mrs. Hattie Bender of Viola (Richland County), state president of the Woman's Relief Corps, an auxiliary of the GAR. Four Milwaukee county relief corps units participated in the ceremony.
