Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Although a porcupine may seem to be untouchable, a user-friendly model made an appearance recently at County Line School in Germantown. Robert James, a traveling zoologist, brought an assortment of animals to the school so students could see and touch the exotic wildlife. James is with Animal Encounters, a non-profit organization from New Mexico. James convinces the children that a porcupine is safe to pet. Germantown, Wisconsin

Photo measures 10 x 7.5 inches. Photo is dated 01-19-1993.
