1960 Press Photo Marinette Gas House, Last in Wisconsin, Closes - mjb21648

This is Wisconsin's last gas house. The plant is in Marinette and began operation as a coal gas plant in 1890. With the introduction of natural gas in the state, the plan was no longer needed. It closed November 11.
