Winifred McGuire's wake was held last Wednesday night, at a funeral home named O'Connor's, at Rockaway Beach on Long Island, New York. "That's one thing I knew before I got there," said Al McGuire, who had flown to New York for his mother's funeral, "that the place had to have an O' in front of it." McGuire, the former Marquette University basketball coach who is now a sportscaster for NBC, was one of four surviving children - three sons and a daughter - the others being...Al's mother, Winnie McGuire.
