Milwaukee firefighters were kept busy Wednesday afternoon with a pair of two-alarm fires. A child playing with matches started a fire that damaged two houses at 136 and 130 West Hadley Street. At 3168 North Richard Street, careless smoking caused a fire that sent one resident to the hospital, destroyed a duplex and damaged a neighboring house. Diecie Thacker, 62, holds her granddaughter, Janel Diecie Ann, 2, as firefighters work to stop the Richards Street blaze.
