1986 Press Photo Firefighters battle a blaze at a Milwaukee apartment building

Seventeen people were left homeless Monday morning when fire swept through an apartment building at 813 West Hadley Street. The Red Cross will provide shelter for the eight adults and nine children forced from their homes. No one was injured. Fire officials were still at the scene late Monday morning.
