Description
Women on the average earn only 63% of what men are paid for comparable work. For William Lucy, secretary-treasurer of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employes, those statistics dramatize what he belives will be one of the major struggles of the 1980s: the fight for equal employment rights for women. Lucy, of Washington, District of Columbia, told about 200 persons at an AFSCME regional clerical workers conference at the Pfister Hotel Saturday that office jobes once were primarily male and were considered a step up from the shop floor.

Photo measures 6.75 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 04-20-1980.
