Chicago: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago ordered an investigation on into the appointment of a parish priest as the executive director of the Illnois Division of the American Civil Liberties Union. The appointment of the Rev. Carl Lezak was announced by the ACLU. Lezak according to the ACLU is the first Catholic clergyman in the organization's history to head a state chapter. Lezak said that he has his staff refer to him as minister not father.
